Compare the use of media language in The Vamps and Little Mix music videos.

Explain one way that music videos use media language to differ from one another.  Music videos are marketing products, designed to appeal to the target audience by portraying the artists as somebody they aspire to be like or could relate to. 1. Look at the mise-en-scene of the key image on this front cover to connote the conventions of the pop music genre. 2. Comment on the use of colour and font in both the masthead and the anchorage text. 3. How does the artist's pose and the language register suggest the magazine is offering secrets and insights to the target audience? 4. How would this magazine appeal to the target audience and can you name the demographic? Challenge Task: Compare this with how representation of the musicians is used on the extract from Mojo.

Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin  were an English rock  band formed in London in 1968. The group consisted of guitarist Jimmy Page , singer Robert Plant , bassist and keyboardist John Paul Jones , and drummer John Bonham . The band's heavy, guitar-driven sound has led them to be cited as one of the founders  of heavy metal.  Their style drew from a wide variety of influences, including blues, psychedelia and folk music. Jimmy Page was the founder of the band and  is widely considered to be one of the greatest and most influential guitarists of all time alongside Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix. Robert Plant  is regarded as one of the greatest musicians in the history of rock music. Singer  Plant enjoyed great success with Led Zeppelin throughout the 1970s and developed a compelling image as the charismatic   rock-and-roll front man, similar to his contemporaries, The Who singer Roger Daltrey, Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones and Jim Morrison of...
